First Fridays of North Beach is a community arts event.  It presents the North Beach community the chance to marvel in the vibrant art scene that awaits them right outside their doorstep. The Vallejo Stairs Garden is located on the 400 block of Vallejo Street, west of Montgomery. The gardens are the result of a city beautification project that was completed in the late 1980’s.  It is maintained by neighbors with compost disposal provided by the DPW. The Vallejo Steps GardeVallejo Stepsn Association is a non-profit that was formed to help
facilitate things like tree
trimming and graffiti removal. This allows the garden to be primarily self sufficient, and does not require City expenditure.  It is estimated that 500 – 1000 people visit the garden each week. Guests are asked to keep their dogs on a leash and refrain from picking the flowers and vegetables.
